PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT The Public Works Department is headed by Director Harold Butch Wessel and encompasses a variety of agencies within the City, including the Street Department, Park Department, Civic Arena and the Municipal Airport. Wessel currently sits on the Sauk Centre Airport Commission as a voting member and is the staff liaison to the Park Board and Airport Commission. Click Here for Park Board Link. Head Street Maintenance Worker Tom Johnson is responsible for the maintenance of the city streets, including, but not limited to street sweeping, snow removal, signage and painting. Click Here for Street Department Link Head Park Maintenance Worker Dave Beilke is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the City's parks, trails and campgrounds. Due to the limited work for his department in the winter months, those employees assist the Street Department in the off-season. Click Here for Park Department Link Arena Manager Bill Berg is responsible for scheduling and maintaining the Sauk Centre Civic Arena Complex. The local softball association and Sauk Centre Public School District utilize the beautiful softball fields during the summer months and the Sauk Centre Hockey Association and the public school utilize the ice arena in the winter months. |
