The Sinclair Lewis Campground is a 27.2 acre specialized recreational area located near downtown Sauk Centre on the northwest side of the community.  The campground is located east of Hickman Drive along the south shore of Sauk Lake.  Sinclair Lewis Park borders the campground on the east side.  The campground is open for the season from approximately May 1st to October 15th each year.  The campground is licensed for 80 campsites and currently has 70 sites, 40 sites with full hookups (water, sewer and electricity) and 30 sites with water and electricity only.  All campsites contain a fire pit.  Three sets of restrooms are contained within the Campground – two with showers.  Other amenities include: grills, picnic tables, storm shelter, dump station, fish cleaning facility, lake access with boat ramp and docks, pop machine, public pay phone and playground access.

The campground includes a number of mature trees.

Parking is available within each site and in the adjacent

parking lot, which services Sinclair Lewis Park.  The road

within the campground was paved in 2002, with speed

bumps installed to help reduce speeds and ensure the safety

of the campers.  The campground is across the street

from the Lake Woebegone Trail Head.
