ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY BOARD
The Sauk Centre Economic Development Authority Board is a five member board, made up of two Council members, one Sauk Centre Opportunities (SCO) representative, one Chamber of Commerce representative and one member at large. The Council representatives are Dennis Rykken and Dr. Larry Okerlund. The Chamber representative is Tim Brinkman, the SCO representative is Steve Donnay and the member at large is Robert Douvier. Each member is appointed to a six year term. The board meets on the third Tuesday of every month at 3:00 PM in the Council Chambers. The Sauk Centre Economic Development Authority (EDA) is a part of the City, created to deal specifically with economic and community development issues. The mission of the EDA is to "...encourage and assist with the development of industry and commerce in the City of Sauk Centre and the housing, labor force and community amenities needed to support such development..." The EDA may be able to provide assistance with: Business Planning, Low Interest Loans, Packaging local, regional, county and state financing applications, JOBZ incentives (see below), Structuring Tax Increment Financing (TIF) or tax abatement assistance, and many other tools useful to new or expanding businesses.
